2024 Summer Leadership Workshop

  • The Ohio State University - Torres House 187 West Lane Avenue Columbus, OH, 43210 United States (map)

Join Ohio student leaders at The Ohio State University for OASL’s Summer Leadership Workshop!

June 23-27, 2024 - Register by May 24, 2024

All Students Welcome!

OASL programs positively impact and elevate student leaders in all organizations, clubs, athletic teams, and school groups. Program content is relevant across contexts, helping all students learn to serve, connect, and inspire their peers, families, schools, communities, and the world.

OASL has been offering summer leadership workshops since 1953. Our 5-day workshops include a balance of hands-on activities and discussions along with personal growth and reflection opportunities.  Students continue to rave about many of our workshop hallmarks: small council groups, team-building activities, and large group sessions. Our Ohio IMPACT session allows students to network and connect with local leaders, provides service learning opportunities, and empowers students to form meaningful connections with one other.

We offer two Program Levels

Middle Level (ML) workshop is for students entering grades 7-9 in the fall.

Senior High (SH) workshop is for students entering grades 10-12 in the fall.

Please note: We offer 3 levels of programming within both the ML and SH workshops. Your program level is determined by the number of times you have previously attended our workshops.

Q&A’s

  • Any middle or high school student can participate in Summer Workshop! Students entering grades 7-9 participate in our Middle Level program, while students entering grades 10-12 participate in our Senior High program. We welcome back our returning summer workshop students and are excited to bring new students into the OASL family this summer!

  • OASL Summer Workshop is for ANY motivated and open-minded student leader! OASL delegates strive to set a positive example, enjoy learning from others, are empathetic, and take positive risks. OASL students gain the confidence they need to use their voice and actions to help make their school or community a better place.

  • Many educators send their newly elected student leaders to OASL Summer Leadership Workshop to give them a chance to create connections with one another and prepare for the upcoming year. This is a great opportunity for students to network with other student leaders from across Ohio to gather new ideas and hit the ground running. Even if students are not in an elected leadership position, they still gain confidence and valuable skills that will make them an asset to your school and organization.

  • Middle Level students attending for the first time should select "Delegate".

Middle Level students attending for the second time should select "ALT.”

Middle Level students attending for the third time should select "ML3.”

Senior High delegates attending for the first time should select "Senior High 1.”

Senior High delegates attending for the second time should select "Senior High 2.”

Senior High delegates attending for the third time should select "Senior High 3."

  • Students just finishing 8th grade in the spring should sign up for the Middle Level Workshop. Once students officially start school in August as a 9th grade student, they transition to the Senior High program.

  • OASL is proud to have selected outstanding sophomores, juniors and seniors in high school to serve as staff members for the Middle Level program.

OASL selects top tier college students and young professionals that facilitate our Senior High program.

OASL staff members have undergone extensive training to ensure your students have the best week possible filled with learning, collaboration, and inspiration.

All workshops are directed by the OASL Leadership Team. All adult staff members are background checked.
